Ladd denies FBI charges and vows to kill Huey while recovering. Natalie pays Rachel, who buys tickets to cover stolen rides. Nicholas follows Eve to Gandor, where Claire threatens him for Chane’s location. Czeslaw flees after learning Claire is the Rail Tracer, then invites Rachel to lunch to win Chane’s affection. Claire walks with Chane, who is abducted by Graham; he rescues her and realizes only Ladd can defeat Claire. Claire proposes friendship to Chane, who nods. In 1933, Eve finds an empty river barrel. In 1932, Elmer meets Sylvie, who spared Firo to keep Gretto’s memories safe and is happy to see Gretto in him. Elmer thanks Ronny for helping Maiza as a person, fulfilling a wish from 1711. Ronny attributes his actions to curiosity rather than promise-keeping. Meanwhile, Gustav and Carol determine the story they investigate has neither a beginning nor an end.
