BLAME!

In a future dominated by a vast, interconnected network, civilization has collapsed due to a past malfunction that caused automated systems to go awry. The result is an endless, self-replicating city structure. Humanity is now at the mercy of the Safeguard, a defense system that hunts and eliminates humans. In one small area, the Electro-Fishers struggle to survive, caught between the Safeguard and a lack of food. A girl named Zuru ventures out to find supplies, but her presence is detected by an observation tower, triggering a Safeguard attack. After her companions are killed and escape is impossible, she is rescued by Killy the Wanderer, who is searching for the Net Terminal Genes, believed to be the solution to the world's disorder.
