Saya uses a sword provided by a cello player to kill a chiropteran threatening Kai, then faints after seeing her blood-stained reflection. David and George carry the pair to safety as American soldiers arrive. Upon waking in the hospital, Saya has no memory of the incident. David rebukes George for his attachment to Saya. Saya experiences flashbacks, confronts her father, and runs away after overhearing their conversation. At the beach, she meets the cello player again and asks about her identity. He promises to explain, but Kai arrives and forces the man to leave before he can answer.
