Yozora and Rika initially decline to attend the upcoming matsuri festival due to crowd concerns, but the club joins when Sena mentions takoyaki, which Kodaka loves. Kodaka and Kobato change into yukatas at Sena's request, while Yozora refuses to change, disappointing Kodaka. Sena finds Kobato attractive but dislikes Kodaka's hair, which he refuses to dye as it is a legacy of his deceased mother. After eating, Yozora and Sena compete at game stalls while others explore. Later, fireworks are set off, but Yozora's hair catches fire, forcing Kodaka to douse her with water. Humiliated, Yozora leaves and stays away from the club for the last week of summer vacation. On the first day of school back, Yozora arrives with short hair, leading Kodaka to finally recognize her as his childhood friend, Sora.
