Ep. 12: Nariyuki and Uruka practice confession while reminiscing at their old school

Nariyuki feels awkward being alone with Uruka after her rejection and seeks Fumino’s advice, who simultaneously counsels Uruka on the same issue. Fumino suggests a frank conversation, but both characters struggle to speak directly, instead texting Fumino for guidance. Their interaction is hindered by memories of embarrassing incidents, such as the unwashed swimsuit and the shrine encounter. Fumino accidentally advises Nariyuki to compliment Uruka’s hair via text, which succeeds in restoring their normal dynamic. Later, Uruka’s swimming team is disqualified due to Ikeda’s error, but Nariyuki admires her composure in comforting him first. Uruka takes Nariyuki to their former middle school to reminisce about their past, revealing she once considered quitting swimming until he encouraged her. When Nariyuki asks if she has confessed to her crush, she has not, so he insists on practicing. Uruka decides to confess for real, but Nariyuki misunderstands and offers tips on improvement. She pushes him into the pool and secures his agreement to call her by her first name.
