Yukichi Fukuzawa shifts from military duties to freelance bodyguard work, relying on his swordsmanship. His plans face complications when he meets Ranpo Edogawa, a talkative young man. Their first encounter involves a strange murder case, leading to the creation of the Armed Detective Agency. Ranpo later pursues a criminal capable of committing flawless crimes. As he investigates, he uncovers a scheme to destroy the Agency. Despite warnings, the group continues their investigation and is later accused of the crime, becoming fugitives. To clear their names, they consider seeking help from their enemies.
