In Sardinia, Godou Kusanagi intends to return a stone grimoire to Lucrezia Zora. Erica Blandelli, a Copper Black Cross knight, intercepts him, leading to a conflict involving a boar summoned by the rogue god Verethragna. Godou intervenes to save Erica and explains his mission, causing Verethragna to flee. Accompanied by Erica’s maid Arianna Hayama Arialdi, they visit Lucrezia, who reveals the grimoire’s connection to the book of Prometheus and allows Godou to keep it. The following day, Godou and Erica encounter another rogue god, Melqart. Having learned of the ten incarnations from Lucrezia, Godou proposes an alliance with Melqart. Utilizing the grimoire, Godou steals Verethragna’s golden sword and kills him, thereby becoming a Campione, a god slayer.

Erica relocates to Japan, prompting Godou to duel her in Italy to prove his powers to magicians.

Erica transfers to Godou’s school in Japan, creating difficulties on her first day. Godou encounters Mariya Yuri, a shrine maiden, and discovers the existence of The Committee for the Compilation of True History, a magical organization operating in Japan. Subsequently, Erica transports Godou to Italy to meet representatives of the local Society of Magicians. During a duel against Erica, Godou demonstrates his new abilities, leading the representatives to entrust him with a significant artifact. He also investigates the validity of The Committee’s theories regarding Erica’s reasons for remaining by his side.

Mariya Yuri receives orders from Amakasu to confirm that Godou has brought the divine instrument known as the Gorgoneion to Japan. After reprimanding Godou, she reveals Princess Alice’s prophecy stating that the Gorgoneion will cause the world's end if acquired by the goddess Athena. Consequently, Godou and Erica depart to locate Athena, intending to either halt her or delay her long enough for Mariya to seal the artifact. However, Athena employs an unforeseen tactic to defeat Godou. Meanwhile, Mariya encounters a girl named Liliana Kranjčar, who initially demands the Gorgoneion but subsequently offers assistance in sealing it.

Godou and Erica attempt to rescue Yuri from Voban’s mansion under a sunrise deadline.

Amakasu tasks Godou and Erica with rescuing Yuri from Voban, noting that only a Campione can fight another. As they navigate the mansion, Yuri tells Liliana that Godou differs from other Campiones. Erica deceives Voban by claiming Salvatore believes the elderly should yield authority to the youth. Voban releases Yuri but grants them thirty minutes to hide before hunting them down, agreeing to admit defeat if they survive until sunrise. After the time elapses, a wolf pack attacks, but Erica defeats them. Voban then summons an army of Dead Servants. Godou counters by summoning the White Stallion, but Voban transforms into a werewolf and consumes it. Godou then grabs Yuri and escapes using the Raptor.

The group prepares for a final confrontation against Voban, battling Dead Servants along the way. Godou kisses Erica and discusses Voban’s history, destroying a wolf pack. To defeat Voban, Godou must remake his golden sword, a process requiring Yuri’s passionate kiss. Voban attempts to control the weather, but Godou utilizes the Goat to summon thunder. With assistance from three girls, Godou overcomes Voban again. Despite surviving the attack, Voban retreats at sunrise, acknowledging his defeat.

Godou attempts to escape Erica, Yuri, Lucrezia, and Arianna on an Italian beach but meets Athena, who urges him to follow her excitement. Elsewhere, Liliana regrets asking Salvatore for help regarding the Heraneion, a grimoire shaped like a stone pillar in an underground chamber. Salvatore cuts the grimoire in half, converting land energy into a dragon. The rogue god Perseus appears and destroys the dragon, disregarding Liliana's warnings. Athena intervenes as Liliana removes Godou from the site to explain Salvatore's actions. Perseus chases them, prompting Godou to summon the Boar, which fails to harm the god. Godou then attacks with the Raptor, but Perseus shoots him with an arrow to the chest.

Athena intervenes to spare Godou from Perseus, who retreats after finding the fight more engaging when Godou is weakened. In a dream, Pandora urges Godou to defeat Perseus after noting his revival by Ram. Upon waking in Liliana's room, she blames herself for previous inaction, while her maid Karen Jankulovski teases her about her feelings for Godou. The pair discusses strategies against Perseus's trump card. Liliana discovers Godou reading her romance novel, causing embarrassment. Athena offers information on Perseus in exchange for a favor, which Liliana rejects. Struggling with her emotions while writing, Liliana paralyzes Godou with tainted mint tea to confront Athena personally. Despite his condition, Godou accepts Athena's deal before she departs. Meanwhile, Salvatore blocks other girls from reaching Godou. Perseus subsequently sends a message demanding a duel at a location he deems suitable for showcasing his greatness to an audience.

Perseus challenges Godou to a duel, and despite using the Bull, Godou struggles against his opponent. Liliana intervenes by kissing Godou, granting him the knowledge to win. Godou reveals Perseus is actually the Persian god Mithra in disguise. Although Perseus stabs Godou and forces Liliana to attack him, she breaks free when he calls her name. Liliana shoots Perseus, allowing Godou to defeat him with the Boar. Athena heals Godou with a kiss, annoying Liliana. A shadowy figure then kills and devours Perseus. Later, the other girls visit Godou in Liliana’s room after Karen reveals the details of his victory.

Liliana transfers to school while Ena challenges Erica to a fight leading to the Purgatory

Liliana transfers to Godou's school, causing Shizuka distress. At Yuri's shrine, they meet Ena Seishuin, who claims to be Godou's chosen wife, forcing Liliana and Yuri to confront their feelings for him. This situation allows Erica to go on her first date with Godou, where they recall their victory against Athena. Ena interrupts the date to challenge Erica to a death match. Godou attempts to stop the fight but is pulled into an underground portal to the Purgatory. Erica and Ena jump in after him. Meanwhile, Athena visits Shizuka at the Kusanagi household to search for Godou.

In the Purgatory, Godou meets Susanoo, who reveals himself as Ena's guardian, helping Godou understand his past before retirement. Meanwhile, Ena allows her sword to fully control her, draining Erica's energy. Liliana and Yuri witness a black aura covering the world. Godou takes over the fight, causing Ena to retreat. As Erica dies, Godou attempts to teleport her to Earth but lands in various places. At the Kusanagi household, Shizuka misunderstands Athena's comments about her relationship with Godou before Athena leaves. On an island, Godou summons the Youth from Verethragna's spirit, having Erica ingest it to save her life. Liliana and Yuri are interrupted by the scythe-wielding serpent goddess who consumed Perseus. When Ena reappears merged with a god, Godou and Erica save her, but Metis absorbs the power of Ena's sword.

Godou recalls Metis's prophecy and battles the goddess to save Athena and the world

Godou remembers Susanoo's warning that Metis, Athena's mother, intends to swallow the heavens, a prophecy unrelated to Athena herself. Arianna and Amakasu arrive to retrieve Godou and the amnesiac Athena, whose powers were previously absorbed by Metis. Erica, Yuri, Liliana, and Ena remain to delay Metis while Godou recharges, but they are swiftly defeated. Metis then attacks Godou, who revives his strength. During the confrontation, Metis reabsorbs Athena's powers, reverting her to her true goddess form. To stop the prophecy, Godou receives assistance from the four girls to exploit Metis's weaknesses. Using a final kiss from Athena after summoning her with the Gale, Godou achieves victory, banishing the black aura from the sky and restoring normalcy.
