Tomoki Sakurai seeks peace but is drawn into an investigation by Eishiro Sugata regarding a black hole-like structure. Only Tomoki attends, witnessing Ikaros, a Pet-Class Angeloid from Synapse, fall through the anomaly. She identifies him as her master and offers to grant any wish. Tomoki jokingly wishes to rule the world, causing everyone to vanish. Distraught, Ikaros prepares to commit suicide, but Tomoki stops her, clarifying it was a joke. While he cannot reverse the disappearance, he wishes for the events to have been a bad dream. He wakes up to find reality restored, with the exception that Ikaros remains by his side.

While Tomoki and his friends follow her, Ikaros purchases all ingredients except meat, opting instead for a baby chick, resulting in vegetable curry. The group goes fishing, but Ikaros surprises them by catching a giant Amazon River fish. Sugata questions her contradictory traits, noting her superior physical abilities and flying speed alongside her poor math skills and inability to see the "New World." When he asks what she truly is, Ikaros admits she does not know, stating only that she wishes to please her master despite her frequent mistakes.

Mikako invites Tomoki to stay at her home, revealing her family are influential yakuza. After a dinner incident at an outdoor bath where Mikako cites a decapitation law, Ikaros intervenes. The next morning, Tomoki and friends are on a plane to an uninhabited island as an alternative punishment. Tomoki eats a mushroom and passes out, later rescuing Sohara while the others disappear. They spend weeks on the island until a sea monster grabs Sohara, but it is actually Ikaros covered in debris, returning with a large tuna. Ikaros scans the area and reveals a hidden room where Mikako’s family and Sugata have been watching their amusement. Eventually, Tomoki and Ikaros return to find his house restored by Mikako’s father, who respects Ikaros’s power.

Tomoki and Nymph rescue her, and after he apologizes, she forgives him only to karate chop him when he again prioritizes Ikaros’s swimming practice. That night, Ikaros reveals she does not sleep, and the pair returns to the beach. Nymph follows but is attacked by delinquents. When Tomoki tries to intervene, Ikaros uses her Angeloid abilities to stop the attackers, causing them to flee.
