Ep. 48: Chrono Unveils Chrono Dran After Kouji Reveals the Truth About Depend Cards

Following a severe assault from Kouji’s Genesis Dragon, Excelics Messiah, Chrono launches a final strike that triggers a vision of a small dragon. His Depend Card transforms into Chrono Dran, revealing its true identity. Kouji then explains that Depend Cards summon units from Planet Cray to Earth. He discloses that Ryuzu Myoujin, a former Vanguard Association member and friend of Chrono’s father Rive Shindou, possesses many cards to pursue personal ambitions. After detailing Rive’s fate, Kouji departs. Chrono ultimately realizes that Kouji had been secretly providing him with additional Gear Chronicle cards throughout their conflict, shifting the understanding of their relationship and the nature of the cards.
