Clare enters a holy city where Claymores are banned to eliminate a Voracious Eater. She uses a drug to hide her identity but struggles to detect the monster. Posing as a human, she infiltrates a church to meet her client. At night, she fights two suspicious knights but escapes. The next day, the knights raid her inn room with Raki, accusing her of being a Claymore. Raki defends her, claiming she is kind. The knights leave without proof. Clare tells Raki to stop seeking kindness in her. Later, she returns to the church to find the Voracious Eater. The knights interfere, complicating the battle. When the monster attacks, Clare protects them by jumping in front of its claws.
