Ep. 9: Suzaku reflects on his past decision to pilot the Lancelot and confront his friend.

Suzaku questions his resolve to continue piloting the Lancelot before recalling a childhood memory with Lelouch and Nunnally. During this flashback, Lelouch reveals his plan to change their names and seek refuge with the Ashford family. When Nunnally asks about his future, Suzaku explains that he could not contact his master, Kyoshiro Tohdoh, and notes that Kirihara has joined Britannia. He reassures them that the Sumeragi family cannot help, but asserts he will be fine as a Kururugi. Nunnally promises that a helping hand will one day aid him. Suzaku later doubts they will meet again and blames himself for their separation. He regrets not telling Lelouch his true intentions, which might have changed their paths. The flashback ends with Suzaku realizing it is too late to alter the past, so he resolves to face his friend directly.
