Nunnally mentions a person who has not visited recently, implying C.C., which makes Lelouch awkwardly deny any romantic relationship with her. Sayoko interrupts, allowing Lelouch to change the subject. Nunnally asks about Milly's thirty-first marriage interview, which Sayoko confirms was ruined by Milly. Sayoko then gives Nunnally the second issue of the thousand cranes series. Nunnally asks about other Japanese good luck charms, and Sayoko provides a straw doll with five-inch nails, causing Lelouch to cringe upon seeing it.
