On New Year's Day, Misae initially gives Shin-chan a ball instead of a coin, but provides the actual coin after breaking it. Shin-chan takes the money shopping but chooses not to spend it, saving the coin and admiring it even while asleep. His grandparents arrive unannounced, determined to enjoy time with their grandson despite the potential burden on Misae. Although Shin-chan and his grandfather agree to assist with cleaning, their efforts ultimately result in creating more mess rather than reducing it.
