Shin-chan frequently oversleeps and misses the school bus, prompting Misae to devise a plan to wake him for kindergarten. However, she receives a call from Yoshinaga informing her that the bus has broken down. Meanwhile, Masao harbors a crush on Megumi from another kindergarten class but is too shy to speak to her. Shin-chan becomes hungry after playing outside, but Misae is busy entertaining guests and cannot prepare food. Unable to control his hunger, Shin-chan decides to prepare a meal for himself, specifically making natto and rice.
