Ep. 48: Ko dominates early innings while Akaishi learns of Akane's surgery and Seishu takes a one-run lead.
Aoba reaches the stadium just as Ko delivers his first pitch in the bottom of the first inning. Ko informs Akaishi about Akane's surgery, causing Akaishi to express annoyance at being excluded from the information. Ko maintains a velocity exceeding 94 mph, retiring three batters with two strikeouts. Before the second inning, Azuma shares his regret regarding Seishu with Akaishi. Ryuo's pitcher Oikawa walks Azuma but strikes out the remaining batters. In the bottom of the second, Mishima executes a drag bunt to reach base, telling Azuma he acted to prevent a no-hitter. No additional hits occur through the first six innings except via walks. In the seventh, Azuma singles and Akaishi drives him in, a moment witnessed by Akane from her hospital room, giving Seishu a 1 to 0 lead.
