Kotaro is currently on the run alongside Dunk, a lion he assisted in escaping from the zoo. As they attempt to avoid capture, Kuro and Mi eventually join their group. Together, the four of them work to evade their pursuers and fight off the armed soldiers who are hunting them. The narrative focuses on their efforts to stay free while dealing with the immediate threat of the military forces pursuing Kotaro and his new companion.
