Jun'ichi experiences a dream involving Kotori. Kotori notices her telepathic abilities weakening because the cherry blossom tree has withered, resulting in painful noise when she attempts to read minds other than Jun'ichi's. She relies on sensing his thoughts for comfort, though her friends observe that she is developing romantic feelings. Jun'ichi discovers from Kotori that she was adopted into the Shirakawa family and acquired her mind-reading powers through a wish granted by the cherry blossom tree.
