Despite reports of hospitalization, Miharu Amakase appears in her classroom, surprising everyone. The individual present is actually an android modeled after Miharu's appearance and personality. Jun'ichi is assigned the responsibility of caring for this android by his homeroom teacher, Koyomi. Koyomi is also identified as a researcher at the Amakase Laboratory. This arrangement places Jun'ichi in a caretaker role for the artificial being that has replaced the real Miharu in the school setting.
