Jun'ichi goes hungry after a mishap involving Sakura and Nemu. He encounters Kotori Shirakawa, a school idol with telepathic abilities, singing beneath the oldest cherry blossom tree on Hatsune-Jima in Sakura Park. She offers him yakisoba, one of his favorite foods. Kotori later faints from a headache caused by reading too many students' thoughts. Jun'ichi escorts her to the infirmary, where Koyomi, Kotori’s sister, asks him to look after her. The two eventually become friends. When Jun'ichi returns home, Nemu surprises him with yakisoba.
