Private detective Gai Kurasawa and his partner Kiko Kayanuma are hired by a widow to locate her missing black cat. During their investigation, Kurasawa repeatedly encounters Hei, who is hunting a Contractor responsible for killing employees at the same cosmetics company. These encounters lead Kurasawa to grow suspicious of Hei's motives. Following his client's advice, Kurasawa visits a specific house and inadvertently takes a jacket belonging to the Contractor without realizing its significance. Inside, he successfully captures the black cat, identified as Mao, but also discovers the skeleton of a woman who died long ago, adding a mysterious element to the case.
