Jul 6, 2014After striking an elderly curator for criticizing his work, Seishu Handa is sent to a remote island near Kyushu to refine his skills. He struggles with the stark contrast between his Tokyo life and the village, where residents use unfamiliar accents and his home features outdated technology. A young girl named Naru claims the house as her base, repeatedly entering despite Seishu's objections and even using his art supplies. Following a dispute with her, Seishu understands the curator's feedback that his style is too rigid. Later, villagers gather to assist him in moving the remainder of his belongings from Tokyo, marking his initial integration into the community.

Jul 13, 2014The village chief’s wife asks her son Hiroshi to deliver food to Seishu, as no one else eats her cooking. Naru and two friends visit Seishu’s new house in Seishu, but Seishu angrily kicks them out. Hiroshi arrives with the meal to find Seishu overworked and near death. Naru intervenes, saving Hiroshi and the food while demonstrating Seishu’s dedication. The following day, Naru discovers Seishu collapsed and rushes him to the hospital. A nurse jokingly warns Naru not to pursue her because she is married. After a scare involving a nearly empty IV bag, Naru vows to protect Seishu from a ghost. Seishu receives advice from an elderly patient before discharge, only to learn he was the sole patient in the facility.

That night, Tamako plans to apologize but instead witnesses a scene between Seishu and Hiroshi that she interprets as yaoi. The following day, Seishu places second in a calligraphy contest against a younger rival. To lift his spirits, Naru and friends take him to a mochi-catching celebration for a new boat built by Kenta's father. Seishu struggles against stronger competitors until an elderly woman advises him to wait for the right moment. He eventually returns home to find a mochi soup prepared by one of the top participants for the villagers.

He accidentally knocks over seaweed belonging to Miwa’s father, who seizes the opportunity to have Seishu write a long kanji phrase for his new boat. Lacking proper tools, Seishu writes over handprints placed by Naru and her friends on the hull. Miwa’s father pays him with seaweed but becomes angry upon discovering Seishu practiced on the wooden boards intended for the boat.

The village chief then invites Seishu to supervise children heading to the beach, with Miwa, Tamako, and Hiroshi joining. The location is merely a rocky shore lacking sand, yet the children immediately jump into the ocean. Seishu attempts to follow but slips on a wet rock, repeatedly knocking himself unconscious. He returns home claiming he cared for their safety, prompting the children to embrace him. After resting, Seishu misses a call from his agent, who is at the nearby airport with a younger calligrapher.

Kosuke urges Seishu to return to Tokyo, arguing his art has declined on the island. This triggers another breakdown as Seishu struggles with writing for prizes versus personal satisfaction. Naru and Hina interrupt by throwing paper planes made from the magazine pages. Seishu reaffirms his decision to stay in the village. Later, villagers line up for autographs after finding the scattered interview pages.

Aug 17, 2014Seishuu, Kawafuji, Kosuke, Naru, Miwa, Hina, and Hiroshi go fishing together. For Kawafuji, Kosuke, and Seishuu, this is their first time, requiring them to learn the basics. Hiroshi aims to catch a Hisanio, an expensive fish. During the trip, Kawafuji reveals that Kosuke has not been writing since seeing Seishuu's latest work. Kosuke explains that he has been distracted by Seishuu's calligraphy and lost his point of reference when Seishuu changed his style. As evening approaches, Hiroshi uses his last bait and eventually hands his rod to Kosuke. A large fish bites, and the group helps reel it in. Just as they pull the Hisanio from the water, the bait breaks, and the fish escapes. The following day, Kosuke and Kawafuji depart the island. Kosuke apologizes to Seishuu for his previous rude behavior and thanks him for the new insights gained.
EP 8Seishuu struggles to find a beetle gift for Naru's surprise party
Aug 24, 2014The group plans a surprise birthday celebration for Naru, leaving Seishuu unsure of what to purchase. He considers buying a beetle from Kentarou for 10 yen, but Kentarou refuses because he intends to give one to Naru as well. Seishuu attempts to catch a beetle himself but becomes too frightened to handle it. Eventually, Kentarou provides a beetle, which bites Seishuu before flying away. During the party, Seishuu presents Naru with a ticket promising to do anything she says. The following day, Naru and Seishuu visit a graveyard during the Bon Festival period to pay respects at Naru's grandmother's grave. They then spend the evening enjoying festivities with the entire village until late at night.
EP 9Seishuu Falls Off a Cliff After a Day of Domestic Troubles and Bullying
Sep 7, 2014With two weeks remaining until the Narukain Contest Deadline, Seishuu lacks a project idea. His bath boiler breaks, leading Yuujirou to suggest heating water with fire. Reluctantly gathering wood, Seishuu asks Naru to watch the fire, but Miwa and Tamako interfere, causing anger. Later, Hiroshi prepares lunch because Seishuu’s mother is unavailable. A crying Hina arrives to report that Naru is being bullied by three children from another village. Seishuu and Hiroshi intervene, ending the conflict when the bullies flee upon seeing Akki. The following day, Seishuu hikes into the mountains with Naru and friends. On the return trip, he accidentally falls off a cliff. His companions assume he took a different path. Believing he will die, Seishuu sees the sky and a falling star, which inspires him. He wishes to be saved, and Miwa, Tamako, and Naru subsequently find him.

After the event concludes, Seishuu leaves the island without informing anyone of his departure.

Upon reviewing the piece, the director believes it is strong enough to win first prize. However, in a moment of panic, Seishuu falsely claims the submission is not his actual entry and that the real work is still in transit. Consequently, Seishuu must create a new piece but struggles to find inspiration. A phone call from his friends back on the island provides the necessary motivation, leading him to create a new work titled Stone Wall.
EP 12Seishuu Returns to the Island After His Mother's Approval and Gang Surprise
Sep 28, 2014Seishuu’s mother initially opposes his return to the island, but learns his father once lived there. She delivers a box from the gang, and seeing his joy, she finally grants permission. Upon arriving back, he is greeted by a surprise from everyone. He receives a call from Kawafuji informing him of a fifth-place finish. Despite the ranking, he feels no sadness because the work allows him to feel proud. The episode focuses on his family's acceptance and his satisfaction with his recent achievements while reuniting with his friends on the island.
