Sion brings Froaude to Nelpha as his new assistant amid fears of an assassination attempt at the upcoming royal banquet. Ryner and Ferris are tasked with keeping watch outside the manor. Froaude perceives them as potential dangers and engages them in combat, using his inherited shadow magic to wound Ferris. After the clash, Froaude departs, stating he will spare Toale for now. The following morning, Ryner and Ferris depart from Toale's residence to resume their quest for the hero relics.
