Mei engages Yuuki in a one-on-one battle before Furuya takes the mound. He surprises his teammates by thanking them for their support, then proceeds to strike out the opposing lineup. Miyuki and Mei face off, with Mei delivering a change-up that results in an easy out due to no runners on base. In the second inning, Furuya strikes out the cleanup and number six batters, though Mei manages to pop out to third instead of striking out. Displaying unprecedented control and speed, Furuya forces Inashiro to reconsider their strategy. Seidou holds a 1-0 lead at the end of two innings. This segment adapts material from the second half of chapter 151 through the first half of chapter 155.
