Impmon claims to despise humans as a defense mechanism for his personal insecurities. During the Tamers' conflict with the Deva member Indramon, Impmon chooses to fight the enemy alone. His attempt fails, and he is nearly killed in the process. At the same time, Takato ponders whether Calumon holds the key to the Tamers' Digimon evolving. The events highlight Impmon's internal struggles and Takato's uncertainty regarding the group's power source amidst the ongoing battle against the Deva.
