Guilmon discovers a portal to the Digital World in his shed, prompting the children to reveal their Digimon partners to their families. Takato’s father supports him despite his mother’s shock, while Henry informs Suzie about Terriermon and Rika’s grandmother accepts Renamon. Rika wears a dress to please her mother before departing, and Jeri has Leomon speak with her father. Kazu and Kenta decide to join the group to find their own partners. After receiving detention, the students write essays for Ms. Asaji, who confronts them but ultimately worries for their safety. The next day, Yamaki appears but provides a comlink instead of stopping them, having switched sides. The group then enters the portal to the Digital World.
