Meirin is startled by her pet monkey Tenshin before heading to school, where she anticipates a close encounter with Asuka. Asuka questions her predictions, setting the stage for Meirin to misinterpret the relationship between Asuka and her friend Yue during an urban historical research assignment. The situation worsens when Meirin discovers Tenshin has stowed away and eaten her lunch. After preparing a replacement meal, she searches for the monkey while Asuka considers calling for help. Takashi Tokiwa eventually helps locate Tenshin through a high-altitude rescue, allowing Meirin to spend time with Asuka and illustrating the dangers of making assumptions.
