Ep. 91: A Controversial Counting Match and a Nighttime Assassination Attempt
Aired on December 9, 1987

Chiaotzu attacks Krillin with a Dodon ray, but Krillin retaliates with a Kamehameha. After a struggle near the ring edge, Chiaotzu paralyzes Krillin using his special powers. Realizing Chiaotzu requires his hands to maintain the paralysis, Krillin distracts him with a math problem. As Chiaotzu counts on his fingers, Krillin breaks free and knocks him out of the ring. Later, an assassin sneaks into Goku’s room to kill him, but Goku wakes up and the attacker flees. Goku and Krillin pursue the intruder, discovering it is the Crane Hermit seeking revenge for Tao’s death. The two prepare to fight, but Tien intervenes, insisting that Goku must face punishment and humiliation within the ring rather than in a street fight at night.
