While Goten and Trunks resent entering the upcoming Tenka’ichi Budōkai, young Pan is eager to compete. Goku informs Vegeta that a powerful fighter will attend the event. On the tournament day, Satan and Buu negotiate match outcomes in their waiting room, but Satan panics upon learning Goku is participating. Goku reassures him by promising to throw the fight. After passing the preliminaries, the main bracket begins. Goku requests Buu use magic to manipulate the lottery, hoping to face a boy named Uub, whom Goku recognizes as the reincarnation of the evil Majin Buu defeated ten years ago.
