Cell locates Android 18, prompting Trunks to warn Krillin, Android 16, and Android 18 of the danger as Cell approaches. Trunks pursues Cell, repeatedly blocking his attempts to absorb Android 18. Vegeta interferes with Trunks, believing him too weak-minded to fight his father, but Trunks blasts Vegeta into the water. Cell then uses Tien's Solar Flare to blind everyone, including the returning Vegeta. With only Krillin remaining, Cell ignores Krillin's stalling tactics and successfully absorbs Android 18, initiating his transformation while the other fighters are incapacitated.
