Ep. 1: Tom collects a debt, leading to a chaotic chain of events involving a red bag and multiple syndicates.

Tom visits Ginjiro to collect a debt, but Hanako provides a red bag for his escape. Shizuo intervenes, knocking Ginjiro from a tree and causing the bag to fall onto Saburo’s van on the freeway. Meanwhile, Mikado, Masaomi, and Anri attend a festival where they try on costumes. Izaya hires Celty to retrieve a red bag, unaware of its contents, while Ginjiro is surrounded by a syndicate at the festival. The bag on Saburo’s van contains cash, leading the first syndicate to chase Celty, who carries a different bag with an extinct lizard. Confusion ensues as the syndicates clash, and the cash bag falls into the street. Mikado and his friends find the bag and return it to Hanako at a police office. The second syndicate blames Shizuo for the theft, who throws them out a window, creating an aurora mistaken for an extraterrestrial sighting.
