Ep. 12: Tohru meets Hatsuharu and Momiji, confronts Akito, and reflects on her fears.

The second school year starts with Tohru excited to see Hatsuharu and Momiji as first years, while Kyo joins reluctantly. She is surprised by Momiji’s female uniform and Hatsuharu’s unique appearance, leading to a conflict with student council president Takei Makoto. Hatsuharu defends Momiji and explains his hair before Takei departs. Tohru then encounters Akito Sohma, the current head of the Sohma family, whom Momiji had warned Yuki and Kyo to avoid. Yuki approaches them, trembling with fear during Akito’s confrontation over missing the New Year's celebration. Tohru pushes Akito away, causing him to leave while Kyo observes from afar. Later, Shigure and Hatori discuss Akito’s disdain for Tohru and his past psychological torture of Yuki. Tohru plays badminton until sunset, thinking of her mother and wondering about Akito’s zodiac sign. Despite initial fear, her time with friends alleviates her anxiety, and Hatsuharu thanks her for supporting Yuki.
