Ep. 44: Miboshi possesses Chiriko while Yui summons Seiryuu with Nakago

Miboshi inhabits Chiriko’s body after his original form perished, using him to attack Miaka and the remaining Suzaku Seven. Chichiri erects a protective barrier, but Miaka steps outside it, leaving her vulnerable. Simultaneously, Yui and Nakago travel to the Seiryuu summoning ceremony after securing two Shinzaho, with Yui promising her third wish for Nakago. Miaka pleads for Chiriko to awaken as Subaru and Tokaki of the Byakko Seven revert to their teenage forms. Tokaki rescues Miaka, and Subaru restores her voice. Chiriko regains control, realizing he must kill himself to defeat Miboshi, and stabs himself with Miboshi’s rattle. He gives Taiitsukun’s scroll to Miaka before dying, while Mitsukake and Tasuki stay with him. Miaka, Tamahome, and Chichiri flee to the ceremony roof, only to find Yui beginning the summoning.
