Ep. 2: Kusaka returns from London to fight in the Boshin War against his lover Akizuki

Kusaka considers leaving his clan until Sufu Masanosuke sends him to London. Before departing, he shares a passionate sexual encounter with Akizuki. During his four years abroad, Akizuki leads his clan and associates with the Shogun. Upon returning to Japan, Kusaka joins the Imperial army in the Boshin War, opposing Akizuki, who fights for the Bakufu. In a final battle, Kusaka discovers Akizuki, who has lost a leg to cannon fire, preparing for seppuku. When a comrade witnesses Kusaka assisting his former lover, Kusaka kills the witness, shocking Akizuki.
