Ep. 1: Mikan Sakura travels to Alice Academy to find her friend Hotaru after learning of the school's true nature.

Ten-year-old Mikan Sakura lives with her grandfather in the countryside and prepares to save her school from demolition. She recalls meeting her best friend Hotaru a year prior, noting their sister-like bond despite frequent arguments. Mikan is devastated when Hotaru moves to an elite Tokyo school, and after six months of silence, Mikan discovers the institution is Alice Academy, which enslaves students with unique abilities called Alices. Concerned, Mikan leaves her grandfather to attend Alice Academy. There, teacher Narumi informs her that she may possess an Alice ability and offers assistance. Just as he is about to reveal her specific power, the school wall explodes. A boy wearing a black cat mask appears, and Narumi identifies him as Natsume Hyuuga, who possesses the Fire Alice.
