While cycling, Chūsuke scolds his friends for lagging behind. The group discovers a strange object in the woods, which Nezumi-Otoko identifies as a ghost mailbox belonging to GeGeGe no Kitarō. Despite his friends' fear, Chūsuke dismisses the warning, kicks the mailbox, and pulls it from the ground. Later, after lunch, Chūsuke decides to hike Mt. Irazu alone. He intends to verify the truth of a farmer's earlier warning that the mountain is dangerous. This solo expedition serves as a test of his own courage against the alleged threats of the terrain, ignoring the potential risks associated with the location.
