Julian, Poplan, and surviving Rosen Ritter soldiers return to Iserlohn after the Julian fleet suffers significant losses, despite a temporary truce. Julian and Kate officially establish a romantic relationship. Both the Reinhard and Julian fleets arrive at Heinessen. In the hospital, Rubinsky commits suicide, triggering brainwave-activated bombs beneath Heinessenpolis. Reinhard and Julian discuss political next steps, agreeing to grant Heinessen and its surrounding systems autonomy in exchange for Iserlohn. They also consider drafting a constitution for the Empire. Finally, staff members from both Julian and Reinhard prepare to depart for Phezzan.
