Ep. 3: Shinpachi faces ridicule until Gintoki intervenes to defend his honor and chocolate parfait.

Following the Amanto invasion, samurai are forced to abandon their swords, yet Shinpachi’s father upholds the warrior code until his death. He passes the samurai spirit to his children, prompting Shinpachi to labor at unfamiliar jobs to protect their family dojo. This path proves difficult for a youth trained only in swordsmanship. After Shinpachi endures mockery from his manager and disdain from Amanto citizens, a stranger intervenes. This man, identified as Gintoki Sakata or “Odd Jobs Gin,” defeats the oppressors to avenge the destruction of Shinpachi’s chocolate parfait. Shinpachi recognizes genuine samurai integrity in Gintoki, who is distinguished by his naturally wavy hair, marking him as the last true samurai.
