Ed recalls his arrival at his father's home and the hostility from his stepmother, while longing for his separated sister. In town, he meets a girl sharing his sister's name who urges him to flee. This encounter is a trap orchestrated by his stepmother to force him into violating academy regulations and facing expulsion. Orphe and an unknown man intervene to rescue Ed from this scheme. Meanwhile, Lui blocks the headmaster from inspecting the dormitories for the missing students, insisting that the students must maintain self-governance rather than submitting to administrative oversight.
