Yamada visits Hagu, but Professor Hanamoto has taken her for contrast bath therapy. The physical therapist notes Hagu’s resilience despite the risk that she may never paint again. In Spain, Mayama prevents an architect from seeing Rika. Morita unexpectedly returns to check on Hagu, causing a jealous Takemoto to accidentally injure himself before borrowing Yamada’s bicycle to rush to the hospital. Professor Hanamoto tests Hagu’s pain tolerance in her right hand, encouraging her to cry. Hagu reflects on drawing as part of her life. Takemoto arrives and learns Morita took Hagu. Morita comforts and kisses Hagu, while Professor Hanamoto announces a teaching break to Takemoto, ignoring his questions about Hagu’s whereabouts as he returns to the hospital.
