Kaoru recalls his father’s disappointment with an employee’s reaction to an invention, contrasting it with his father’s pride in Morita’s remote-controlled airplane. This reveals the father favors Morita, a trait his uncle, a business partner, attributes to Morita’s reckless and eccentric nature. The uncle, diagnosed with a work-restricting disease, ceases collaboration with the father and joins Floyd Electric. When Floyd Electric representatives visit the laboratory, the father acknowledges the uncle’s betrayal. The uncle explains that his impending death will transfer his financial rights to Floyd Electric rather than the father. Subsequently, Morita, Kaoru, and their father depart the laboratory. Morita awakens from a dream depicting Kaoru’s envy. During an art exhibition on campus, a windstorm occurs, leading to an unexpected event.
