Taihaku encounters Ovan, which may inspire his decision to enter the Forest of Pain. Meanwhile, Haseo learns that Phyllo met Tri-Edge and demands details about the incident. Phyllo deflects the inquiry by telling Haseo to stop blaming himself for Shino's coma. Enraged and still burdened by guilt, Haseo challenges Phyllo to a battle but is defeated. Following the loss, Phyllo warns Haseo against fighting Tri-Edge, predicting he will likely become a Lost One. Despite this caution, Haseo discovers the new Forest of Pain quest. He chooses to undertake it to grow stronger and defeat Tri-Edge, deliberately disregarding Phyllo's advice regarding the dangers ahead.
