Ep. 1: Okita’s Illness Prompts Kondo to Ground Him While Chizuru Celebrates

Soji Okita pressures Chizuru Yukimura to resume her undercover geisha role as his tuberculosis worsens. Commander Isami Kondo grows concerned and orders Okita to remain grounded. Chizuru joins the group to celebrate her successful mission, during which Shinpachi Nagakura engages in a drunken fight on the return journey. Later, Kondo personally prepares spring onion porridge for Chizuru to serve Okita. Despite his strong aversion to the ingredient, Okita consumes the entire bowl, demonstrating his compliance with the commander’s orders and concern for his health.
