Apr 10, 2009Recent college graduate Saki Morimi encounters trouble with police in Washington D.C. after trying to toss a coin into the White House fountain. A mysterious, naked Japanese boy assists her, possessing only a gun and cell phone. He returns to his apartment, discovering bullets, a homemade firearm, and fake passports. Comparing his living situation to the film Taxi Driver, he destroys the documents in a toaster. Juiz, identifying himself as the boy's concierge, informs him via phone that his memory has been erased. The boy adopts the name Akira Takizawa and chooses to return to Japan with Saki. During their flight preparation, they observe news reports detailing a missile attack on Tokyo.

Saki accompanies him to locate the address listed as his residence on his passport. Simultaneously, Juiz contacts Akira, informing him that he is responsible for spending 8.2 billion yen charged to the phone. Meanwhile, Kondō tracks Akira’s movements by monitoring the locations where he uses the phone for payments. Akira eventually approaches Kondō after noticing they both possess identical cell phones and initiates a conversation. During their exchange, Kondō questions Akira about Seleção, but Akira remains unable to recall any related information.

Apr 24, 2009Akira and Saki locate an abandoned shopping mall using an address from Akira's passport, where Saki watches a film. Kondō follows them into the building and assaults Akira in the projectionist's room, stealing his cellphone. Juiz informs Kondō that the device requires fingerprint authorization, rendering the theft useless. Akira calls Kondō to arrange a meeting in the Kabuki district after retrieving his notepad. Upon arrival, Kondō is stabbed by his wife due to his infidelity. Dying, he warns Akira about the Seleçãos, revealing that ten members besides Takizawa and Kondō possess 10 billion yen each. He explains that participants die if their funds reach zero and suspects the organization orchestrated his death by leaking evidence of his affair to his wife.

Once convinced of Akira's innocence, Hiura reveals that Seleção is an organization led by Mr. Outside, who selected twelve people and provided each with ten billion yen to save Japan. Members must adhere to strict behavioral standards or face elimination by the Supporter. Tragically, shortly after Akira departs, Hiura is killed by the Supporter because he had exhausted his allocated funds.

After Saki and Micchon leave for a convenience store, Takizawa discusses Seleção with Pantsu and gains entry. Meanwhile, Osugi examines a posted picture of Takizawa. Respondents identify him using various names, leading Osugi to conclude Takizawa is a criminal. He panics and calls Hirasawa to warn Eden about the potential threat.

Meanwhile, Eden analyzes data from Itazu, discovering Seleçãos' spending logs and spotting a ship of naked individuals believed to be the missing NEETs before fleeing. Mononobe, Yuuki, and Tsuji (Seleção No. 2) prepare to launch missiles, explaining to Takizawa why he erased his memories after being betrayed. A woman announces no winner tonight. Mononobe learns Juiz moved and suspects Seleção No. 12 is the Supporter or Mr. Outside. Takizawa leaves in despair, while Saki grieves her betrayal on the train.

To conceal his role, Takizawa blamed himself for the incident and sent the NEETs to Dubai for three months, subsequently erasing his own memories due to guilt. Eden’s analysis shows missiles targeting all of Japan, including the multiplex. Takizawa contacts the NEETs, claiming a larger attack is imminent, and tasks them with devising an interception strategy for Eden. Juiz utilizes their collective expertise to deploy F-15 jets and Patriot missile launchers, successfully destroying the incoming threats. With the cover-up becoming impossible, Takizawa orders Juiz to spend his remaining funds to crown him King of Japan, arguing that he must assume leadership responsibility. He brainwashes himself via his phone, leaving it in Saki’s pocket as she contemplates Japan’s future.
