Hikaru discovers old game records of Shusaku and witnesses the genius of Sai playing through him, including the famous ear-reddening move. He regrets not allowing Sai to play more often and decides to quit Go entirely, hoping this will bring Sai back to play in his place. Meanwhile, Akira searches for Hikaru to convince him to change his mind and continue playing the game.
