Shuren leads an assault on Ken-Oh's vanguard and prepares to confront Ken-Oh directly. Simultaneously, Kenshiro, Bat, and Lin reach a new town where they rescue a gentle giant named Fudo from Ken-Oh's thugs, earning his friendship. Shuren engages Ken-Oh using his Passionate Flame Fist but is defeated. He then unleashes his ultimate technique, engulfing himself in flames to sacrifice his life in an attempt to defeat Ken-Oh. This effort ultimately fails. Meanwhile, the group continues their journey, now joined by Fudo, who is noted to have star-shaped tattoos on his arm.
