Gon travels back to Whale Island accompanied by Killua. Mito and her grandmother share details regarding Ging's past with him. Gon is given a small box by his father, which he eventually opens using his Nen abilities. Inside, he discovers a ring, a cassette tape, and a video game memory card. After inspecting the peculiar ring, the group chooses to play the cassette tape. The recording features a voice message from Ging, who asks Gon if he wishes to see him. This narrative segment is part of the Yorknew City arc, also known as the Phantom Troupe arc, specifically identified as episode 1 out of 22.
