Ep. 1: Houtarou joins the Classic Literature Club to prevent its dissolution

Houtarou Oreki joins the Classic Literature Club to stop its abolition at his sister's request. He meets Eru Chitanda, who enters without a key he secured earlier. Satoshi Fukube interrupts their conversation about the locked room. Houtarou explains that a cleaner used spare keys, demonstrating logical deduction. The following day, he distracts Eru with a fabricated mystery to avoid the distant Music Room and conserve energy. He later explains this avoidance to Satoshi while walking home.
