Ep. 10: Houtarou solves the mystery for the Empress but misses a rope detail

Following the dismissal of amateur detective theories, Empress Fuyumi Irisu tasks Houtarou with resolving the mystery to ensure success. He surprises his peers by attending school during the holidays and eventually presents a solution that satisfies most, except the prop master. After a test screening, Mayaka’s question prompts Houtarou to realize he overlooked a specific role for a rope. The prop master had noted that the script writer requested this item, but it remains unused in the unfinished film. This oversight reveals a gap in his deduction despite the otherwise successful resolution of the case.
