Junko invites Akuto to her village under false pretenses to hide her feelings about an arranged marriage. Akuto agrees, unaware of the omiai, and meets Junko’s sister, Yuko Hattori, a pop idol with a demon bite scar. Junko later reveals the truth to Akuto, causing a misunderstanding that leads clan members to chase him. While fleeing, Akuto encounters Eiko, who claims the gods have marked Kena as a threat and orders her clan to kill her. At the school grounds, Boichiro Yamato, leader of the Cabinet Intelligence Magic Office, saves Kena from assassination. Yamato views Kena as the principle of identity and wishes to control the gods through her. Akuto arrives to intervene but realizes Yamato is stronger than him.
