Inazuma Japan practices under Kudou Michiya, though Midorikawa objects to the rest schedule. Endou Mamoru checks on Tobitaka Seiya, who prefers training alone and nearly clashes with Fudou Akio. Hibiki guides Tobitaka, revealing his past as "Toby the Kicker," a former gangster saved by Hibiki who urged him to use his skills for soccer. Endou seeks Hibiki's advice, unaware of his heart condition. Later, Hibiki calls Endou to a hospital, exposing his illness. Endou finds Tobitaka practicing, encouraging him to view soccer as fun. With Endou's help, Tobitaka masters ball control and kicking. Grateful, Tobitaka asks Endou to keep their sessions secret, feeling more motivated by Hibiki's belief that soccer is enjoyable.
